Steam Trains in Ireland
«

There are not many steam trains left in Ireland, but many people are nostalgic about the scenic rides
that could be taken in the old days. Not only was it a relaxed way to travel and see the countryside,
but many friendships and good conversations were started on the trains.
Watch all of this 25 minute video (or you can send it to your email for later) especially the piece
about the Sligo Schoolchildren who made a film about steam trains and their local community.
Also the steam train in beautiful County Kerry.......Great stuff:

Coming from a Rail Road family (My grandfather was Civil Engineer, Maintenance of Way for the Southern Pacific.) I really enjoyed the pictures. My grandfather spent 50 years on the rail and my dad worked in the rail yard while in school. Later he built a live steam engine and I had the honor of beinga gandy dancer when we were laying track.
there is nothing like a Steam Engine.
